A reader is looking at purchasing a property and is concerned that it has an open violation. They discovered the property has a 2008 Environmental Control Board (ECB) violation related to a retaining wall. The seller’s agent speculates that the issue was taken care of by the seller and the violation just hasn’t been cleared. Will this violation impact the sale of the property? Should they avoid properties with this type of violation?
Please chime in with any advice.
