373-Wythe-Avenue-Rendering-0508.jpgBiking over the Williamsburg Bridge last week we were struck by the birds-eye view of 373 Wythe Avenue, a one-story commercial building currently in the process of being dismantled. A little digging turned up this rendering for a 13-story, Karl Fischer-designed residential building on the site. Turns out that the New Building permit was granted just a week ago. Evidently, Williamsburg residents don’t feel the same level of protection towards their bridge as those who live in the shadows of the Brooklyn Bridge do about theirs! GMAP P*Shark DOB

  1. Should be an interesting experiment — I’ve always wondered whether trees can grow over there. As for the rendering, typical blech from KF. Does this guy *ever* do anything different? I’d hate to be a junior architect at his firm.

  2. a co-worker and i walk home over the bridge about 2x per week, and every time she asks me if i know what’s going to happen on that lot (which i didn’t), so thank you!

  3. Ya I still don’t get the full glass wall on a public face of a residence, and the haphazard sheets the occupants throw up trying to gain some privacy.
