This new eight-unit building going up at 168 Meserole Street in East Williamsburg has Scarano written all over it. While the brick choice and double-height windows are signature touches from Mr. S, the odd pointed roof is a new twist—and not a particularly welcome one in our opinion. Interestingly, although DOB only approved the New Building permit in February of this year, the application had been on file since 2003! GMAP P*Shark DOB

  1. I live up the street from this monstrosity. The yellow building to the left of it, as well as another one or two buildings down from it, are landmarked. Read it in my trusty AIA Guide. When will Scarano be smacked down for good? His McCondos are vile. And empty.
