We can’t find anything in public records yet, but The Brooklyn Paper is reporting that the derelict brownstone at 174 Garfield Place, long the scourge of its Park Slope neighbors, has finally been sold. No one seems to know who the new buyer is either. It’s great to hear…that we were able to convince [former owner Peter] Saltini that he should get out, said a spokeswoman for Councilman Steve Levin. We’re sure that whoever bought the building is going to invest in it and the neighborhood. Let’s hope so: There 23 DOB violations and another 20 Sanitation violations on the books. Of course, Brownstoner readers will also want to know the price of this sale. We’re guessing around $1.1 million. Update: We heard from the broker on the deal who informed us that the sale closed last week for $975,000.
