Brooklyn has had its share of coffee house drama, and it looks like the saga of the Ditmas Park Vox Pop is coming to an end. Yesterday Ditmas Park Blog wrote that the coffee house was seized again, but the owner’s had enough and decided to call it quits. “I have never seen anyone work harder at making Vox Pop work for our community to be the space to meet, talk, learn, listen over coffee or not,” wrote Ditmas Park blogger Liena. “The neighborhood simply is not the same without it.”
Now i remember what the place reminds me of…the front of Sanford and Sons salvage yard. lol I can here that theme song playing right now.
Books, coffee, leftist BS…
I went there a few times spring 09 and it was dumpy. Like a dive coffee house unless that was suppose to be the look. Not some place i wanted to frequent like other coffee houses.
From what i read on the Ditmas blogs the mommies with their kids sure liked to hangout there alot. Maybe that’s what killed it. Unruly kids and handsoff mommies. No money being spent by the pablum-free types.
looks like a weed bodega on 11th and B circa 1996
i bet that place has bedbugs
They didn’t pay their employees? WTF?
Good riddance. This is one case where Rob can celebrate a closing. Not paying employees or taxes does not an asset to the neighborhood make. Lib nonsense indeed.
Think it’s for not paying NYS back taxes Gem but may have remembered that wrong.
what you mean SEIZE? by the marshalls – for not paying rent?
sorry didn’t follow the drama unfole
