It was only last Friday that saw signage at Karloff at 256 Court Street; now we can report that the Eastern European eatery has opened to the Cobble Hill masses. The space looks very nice to us—lots of seating, a big communal table, and a relaxed atmosphere. At the front now you can order traditional pastries or coffee to go, but the sign outside advertised borcsh, baked cabbage and chicken, beef stroganoff, and stew. Just in time for winter! Has anyone tried the food yet?

  1. We stopped in here and enjoyed it. They had some great desserts that you don’t find elsewhere — a bit more German or Hungarian it seemed.

The coffee wasn’t as hot as I would have liked it but it was good. Prices seemed reasonable. Hope people give this a shot. Nice to see something different other than the usual coffee nazi places.
