Eton exterior
Yesterday night we noticed Eton opened up in Prospect Heights, at 635 Vanderbilt Ave. The expanded menu is posted here, and the other good news is there is a back room for seating, unlike the Carroll Gardens location. There was a pretty good crowd streaming in, and we can attest to the quality of the Hawaiian shaved ice at the new location! Check out an interior shot on the jump.

  1. Great! Now I just wish they would upgrade the syrups they use for their shaved ice. Sadly, they taste about how they look–totally chemically. You’d never guess what flavor anything is supposed to be without the clue from the colors. Even the strawberry and pineapple were indistinguishable! Come on, Eton! Step up! Know how to get people talking, food bloggers writing, people coming from other neighborhoods and lining up out the door to pay four bucks for a bowl of frozen water? Make awesome natural syrups!! It is not hard. And while you’re at it, you can use those syrups to make other bobas–like lemon-lime! (You’ve gotta have a non-tea option for the kiddies…)
