The Puccio Marble Building at 641 Driggs (on the northeastern corner of Metropolitan) in Williamsburg has gone into contract for $7,000,000, according to an email we received from the broker on the deal, Cheskie Weisz of Weisz Associates. After the deal closes later this month, the new owner plans to convert the ground floor into retail and the upper two floors into luxury rentals.
Don’t know if the sale is still on, but they were dumping the marble stock from this place at fire sale prices. We scored some really nice stuff to redo our bathroom, at a huge discount.
It’s a cool building, glad they aren’t tearing it down.
I do, however, wonder if marble dust is an issue with renovating.

Of course they’re going to be “luxury” — even if their total crap, they’ll still be called luxury.
