The lot at 268-270 St. Marks Avenue between Vanderbilt and Underhill sold for $1,225,000 after a recent bidding war. The 14,000 square feet of residential space that can be built there is, of course, “perfect for townhouses or condo development” as the press release boasts. It does have location going for it. If the site is built to capacity, the purchase price works out to be $85 per square feet. GMAP

  1. there is a working warehouse and commercial studios across the street (mid-block), a garage two doors down (mid-block), a private preschool in the condo near the end of the block…

  2. i saw this the other day. i sure hope it gets built, as this vacant lot (and torn up sidewalk) is a bit of an eyesore. what’s it zoned for? any possibility of retail here?

  3. I wonder if I should mention that this is 2.5 blocks from Atlantic Yards (the proposed parking lot even) and see what sort of discussion/flame war ensues.

No, that would probably be a bad idea.
