Yesterday The Post had an item about “The city’s first ‘chicken sanctuary’…with a brood of 19 chickens and a duck living the good life in a makeshift farm in Brooklyn. The lucky birds sleep in a weatherized wood coop in Bushwick, play on a jungle gym, nap in the sun and eat organic greens and whole grains. When they get colds (yes, chickens come down with colds), the hipster ‘farmers’ drop herbal remedies into their squawking beaks.” The video above shows the place when its flock was a lot smaller; more info about the project on Bushwick City Farm’s website.
