  1. I like the Sterling Place renovation too. Did wonder about the floors, but I do not mind the unfinished trim. And this is one of the few times I’ve liked granite in a kitchen. They made it work with the color of the cabinets, the backsplash and even the polished granite tile floor which I would normally not care for either.

    I go to the Brooklyn Farmacy (soda fountain) on Henry St. near where I live where the counter is a similar black granite and often think THIS is where a granite counter top belongs….never looks too formal or heavy there the way they usually do in residential kitchens. But this one works for me. Nice.

  2. disagree on the renovation! looks like a jumble to me — mismatched floors (is that click-together maple?), mix-n-match wood types/finishes, exposed water pipes, trim that was stripped and not refinished, high-gloss ceilings. and that looks to all be just in the owner’s duplex.

    still, it’s a good price for a 3-unit building.
