Remember the huge Henry Street property that recently sold for $5.4 million, complete with two townhouses and a 200-foot deep side yard? Well, Lost City reports the backyard is being cleared and the townhouses are being converted into apartments. (The buildings were once a convent and then were used by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.) According to the DOB, a permit was approved to divide the lot into four different tax lots, and it appears from another permit that nine units are planned. As of yet, it looks like the owners have the go-ahead to renovate the building’s third floor. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one to see how it turns out.

  1. There are more hoarders per capita in brooklyn than anywhere. I used to think it was kind of rare but nooooo, I’m telling you they are all over.
There is nothing harder than getting a hoarder out of their hoarding house.

  2. Minard, I think I like you. Here’s some insight: the two little beauties (not nuns), were owned by a guy I met a few years back. He was certifiable. A hoarder in the truest sense of the word(seems we’re identifying more and more of them these days arent’ we?). Don’t know who bought it and the lot on Strong Place, but he will have to deal with the guy at some point because he still resides in the place and keeps a couple of the units chock full of sh-t!
