This house at 96A Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights just hit the market with an asking price of $3,195,000. The 17-foot-wide brownstone is generally pretty attractive on the inside, though we’re not loving the renovation on the rear parlor. Still, the house is in good shape, has a charming garden and obviously is in a great location. Think the seller will get his price?

  1. Been looking at different spots in Brooklyn, and I have to say that I love this house and the neighborhood. It’s easy to forget what charm is when your last place was in a Luxury apartment building in Manhattan. The idea of living in your own house seems so foreign me, lets not forget about having a garden as well.

  2. At that asking price, I would sure want to see what the kitchen and baths look like. The living room pipe might just be a riser for the heating system. I don’t find it objectionable at all, particularly in the context of a more modern reno; far more attractive to me than those huge structural columns one sees all the time in the corners of the most recent apartment houses. I can’t say that I like all of those built-out closets in the bedrooms. The garden looks great though.

  3. I was in this house for a garden tour once. The garden is really lovely. I didn’t pay close attention to the house, but from what I recall I liked it. What I do remember was that it was warm with lots of light on the first floor.
