If you’re looking for a pricey house on Midwood Street in PLG, now’s your moment! We’ve already mentioned three houses asking at least $1,500,000–#20, #22, #77–and now there’s a fourth: 66 Midwood. At $1,849,00, it’s the most expensive of the four and, we believe, the most expensive in the neighborhood ever! Not surprisingly, the woodwork and other interior details are to die for and the Romanesque Revival exterior is pretty impressive too. These are big numbers to try and fetch this far out though so we shall see.

  1. It’s 25 minutes from the door of my house (in Lefferts Manor) to Union Square Station. Definitely not longer than that. I used to take the F Train from the South Slope, and it’s definitely further and less convenient in every respect than the B/Q Express Trains.

  2. “This far out”??? What is that supposed to mean, Brownstowner? Park Slope wasn’t too “far out” to become Brooklyn’s premier neighborhood over Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill and all those other neighborhoods along the BQE.

  3. Nice big rooms. I’m surprised they didn’t do more with the garden though. Trying to look past the current decoration (not my personal style) – but seems very nice.

  4. ditto – I am a broker; maybe that’s why I sound like one… And by door to door I mean from the door of the train at one station to getting out at your destination, as one can never predict MTA delays, etc., in terms of train arrivals. As I said, “door to door, from the Q at the Prospect Park station;” seems pretty clear to me what door I was referring to.

  5. The “far out” description is crazily inaccurate. I know 3 different couples living in Kensington and Windsor Terrace who walk to our Prospect Park B/Q station instead of deal with the F because even with the walk it’s faster.

    To be safe always give ourselves 45 minutes to get to Union Square and an hour for Midtown — that’s timing it from the moment we walk out our front door (which is further from Flatbush than this house). Many times we arrive early at our destinations because at rush hour the Q comes every couple minutes. For arriving by car, PLG is way closer through less congestion, than Central/South Park Slope, WT or Kensington.

    I abhor this common insult. Do you not plan on being old? I do, and I will have the same exquisite taste I have now. I will also not “stink.”

  8. Wow, this makes 20 Midwood look reasonable, and 77 like a total bargain.

    itsthebigguy, if you know of a three or four story fixer upper on Midwood (or Rutland) that has sold for $550K or $600K, do tell. In all my time living here, even the wrecks on these blocks have sold for at least double that.
