Patch reports that on Sunday the traffic mitigation plan near Atlantic Yards is being put into place. The changes include turning 4th Avenue between Atlantic and Flatbush into a one-way, southbound artery; reversing traffic flow at Pacific Street between 4th Avenue and Flatbush from westbound to eastbound; and installing a new traffic signal and crosswalk at Pacific and Flatbush. (The full plan is detailed in this PDF.) Patch notes that at a meeting about the changes last month, some residents expressed concerned about the new patterns causing traffic jams on 3rd Avenue because of drivers using it instead of 4th Avenue. There are also worries that the blocks between Atlantic and Flatbush will be overrun.
