We were name-checked in a tweet yesterday (on the jump) suggesting that, after three years there was finally some activity at 525 Clinton Avenue, the 13-story glass tower at the southern edge of Clinton Hill. The building, which looked quite nicely done, didn’t get to market quickly enough and fell victim to the financial meltdown; in the aftermath, as it sat vacant, some politicians lobbied for it to be turned into affordable housing. (That would have been quite the hook-up for the lucky modest-wage earners who won that lottery!) We swung by this morning to follow up on the tweet and spotted a couple of workers up on one of the balconies. No DOB permits were posted on site, however, and we weren’t able to find anything new online, so this may not be anything to get excited about. That’s too bad, because if these apartments came to market right now at the right price they would fly off the shelf.

  1. jeez, i hope i don’t park my car too long in that neighborhood, the politicians will decide to give it to someone more fortunate who needs it, seeing as is been sitting there empty for a week or two.

just when you think you actually do lean in the liberal direction, these politicians pretty much want to make you go all FOX news on their ass.

I hope the building kicks ass. Buy one and vote the entitled freeloaders out.
