Rental of the Day: 851 Park Place
We’re loving this semi-detached brownstone up for rent in Crown Heights. The dark wood, stained glass, fireplaces: this place has it all. On top of five bedrooms, there’s also a living room, library, TV room and dining room. And while the kitchen hasn’t been recently updated, it’s still big. So how much for all this?…

It’s FRBO, so you won’t have to pay a broker fee. Think the price is right?

i just walked down this block this morning – because that’s what i do now, walk down random CHN blocks – and it is a beautiful home on a beautiful (soon to be landmarked) block.
The house next door is for sale (the real reason I was passing by):

There are a lot of things available in the city for $6,000 a month. Seems to me this might be ideal for someone who deals in, er, all cash transactions. I just can’t imagine your average family deciding oh, lets rent in Crown Heights for 6000 a month. It just strains credulity but then some of the tattoos I see on young women strain credulity. Tattoos are inexpensive though.

I didn’t make an appointment to go in. Minus: the facade is much more beat up than the pictures let on. Plus: the cobblestone driveway of the $6000 rental ensures half of your house has windows and a kinda-scenic view.
