Brooklyn 11211 points to an interesting bit of gossip in The Art Newspaper: Whole Foods is said to be mulling a store on Kent and Metropolitan. According to the publication, there’s a rumor the grocer is eying the site where the venue Monster Island currently stands that’s “scheduled for demolition in November.” Obviously this would be huge news for Williamsburg if it’s true; Brooklyn 11211 notes the site in question isn’t zoned for residential construction but retail is probably as-of-right.

that bike path is the WORST thing for the growing neighborhood. because of it there is now parking in the middle of the street causing visibility issues all around.
This would be a safety disaster for the Kent Ave bike path, which gets an unbelievable amount of use.
