Yesterday Curbed keyed into the listing that’s popped up for 2 Strong Place—one of three houses that will be built on Kane and Strong Place—and now we have an idea of how the design is supposed to turn out. (Click through for floorplans.) The 4,927-square-feet, 5-bedroom corner property is not coming cheap: It’s listed at $5.95 million, and Curbed says it will set a neighborhood record for priciest single-family sale if it fetches its asking price. Meanwhile, there’s also a listing up for one of the other townhouses that will be built, 4 Strong Place. The 3,877-square-footer is asking a comparatively modest $3.95 million. Construction on these puppies is supposed to start in the spring.

  1. ET, yes, well, real estate prices so near Wall Street are ridiculous.
In terms of your “housekeeper” comment I would make the “mud room” do double duty as the caterer’s kitchen. that is where the warm canapes and chilled caviar and champagne would come from at a soiree.

  2. I have seen a couple of existing houses renovated with this sort of layout in Brooklyn Heights. It works very nicely. The expansiveness of the kitchen, dining and outdoor terrace has a very luxurious vibe. Here it will be reinforced by the two-story open area above the dining table. It is a lovely layout, nothing awkward about it. Naturally as in all open arrangements one has to keep a tidy kitchen. Most people manage.

  3. I don’t understand why posters are saying the house does not have a dining room. Isn’t that a dining room at the rear? If you want it separated from the kitchen you can put up a wall, but why?
    These will be hot properties.
I really like the care taken on the facades as well. No cutting corners and over-simplifying. I will say it again, something like this would have been great at the 30 Henry Street site.
