Impressive! That’s a good word to describe this house that just hit the market at 113 Prospect Park West. Because of a three-story extension, the four-story house weighs in at a hefty 6,000 square feet, all of which, according to the photos, are about as good as it gets if want a traditional pad. The asking price is $5,250,000, which comes out to $875 a foot. Achievable?

  1. Typical B.S.; no single tax hike is going to cause a successful B&B to go out. I admit it can be cumulative to the point where due to taxes, other expenses and endless hastle the return is no longer worth it – but it is pretty simplistic to say the “Bloomberg’s tax hike caused us to close”.
But simple and stupid explanations are all the rage these days; here are a couple:

Uncertainty with Washington is holding back hiring (really??? when did Washington or any other elective government provide certainty?)

The rent is too high for my [insert overpriced retail establishment] to operate (Really??? the rent is high because so many retailers are clamoring to operate at your location)
