The exterior work seems pretty minor, which makes you wonder about the purpose of the large construction fence now around the house. It is a 9,200-square-foot home on a 13,500-square-foot lot (with a carriage house fronting Vanderbilt Avenue, to boot) so there is a lot to work with here.
