The inimitable urban photographer and Gothamist publisher Jake Dobkin managed to gain access to the revamped McCarren Pool and has a slide show up on Gothamist to prove it. We’ve taken the liberty of borrowing the money shot above but be sure to click through to see shots of the showers and lockers as well as the beautiful old arched brick construction. The complex is scheduled to open to the public at the end of June. If you want to be the first one in, please consider buying tickets to the Open Space Alliance annual gala that takes place at the pool on June 27. OSA has played–and continues to play–a critical role in advocating for parks and public space in North Brooklyn. Event information and tickets can be found here. (Disclosure: We’re on the host committee this year.)
