The forever-boarded-up house at 434 Vanderbilt Avenue (right off Fulton Street) will be an eyesore no more. According to the minutes of last month’s CB2 Landmark’s meeting, the owners are about to embark upon a renovation that will, among other things, replace the existing brick with similar brick, install new back windows, and reconstruct the flat-top dormer. The architects on the job – Brent M. Porter Architect and Associates – have already overseen the stabilization of the building, which apparently was unable to stand on its own five months ago. The Landmarks Committee at CB2 approved the plans, as did the LPC at its June 5th hearing. Now on to work! GMAP
