Tonight the Transportation Committee of Community Board One will vote on whether or not they support completing the 14-mile Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway by linking Greenpoint with Williamsburg via West Street. When completed, the Greenway will offer a continuous landscaped waterfront recreation and commuting area for bicylists and pedestrians stretching from Sunset Park to Greenpoint. “A strong show of support by greenway supporters from Greenpoint and Williamsburg is critical” to the implementation of the plan, according to the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. The public meeting will take place at 435 Graham Avenue at 6:30 pm.
