Some Photos of the Recently-Completed Willoughby Plaza

Last week local politicians and representatives from the Department of Transportation cut the ribbon at Willoughby Plaza, a permanent public plaza now open in Downtown Brooklyn. This morning we snapped a few photos of the 14,000 square foot space. It features new landscaping, lighting and public seating. The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership is in charge of public programming here. This pedestrian plaza opened as a test plaza back in 2006; then the DOT decided to build out the space permanently and invested in a $2 million renovation. The permanent plaza has been under construction since this summer. Click through for more photos.
