Park Slope
Here’s Park Slope wonders if Fornino, open for about three years on 5th Avenue, is permanently closed. According to all the signs, the future of the restaurant doesn’t look bright. Carroll Gardens
Vietnamese restaurant Nightingale 9 is opening on Smith Street right across from Smith Canteen in a week. Also on Smith Street, Avlee Greek Kitchen opened up and serves lunch, dinner and takeout. Brooklyn Based reviews Take Root, a “unique dining-and-yoga concept” that offers a la carte dinner, a tasting menu and yoga workshops. Finally Mazzone’s Hardware store on Court Street is switching to an Ace Hardware Store and keeping the same owners.

North Brooklyn
Brooklyn Based discovers Cameo Gallery, a speakeasy space in the back of Williamsburg cafe Loving Cup, and the owner reveals plans to make the space more visible. Julia James Boutique is closing in Greenpoint and holding a huge sale. And Xi’an Famous Foods, a popular, cheap restaurant with locations all around the city, opened on Beadel Street.
