Buzz Buzz Home found a rendering for the building going up at 146 S 4th Street, and we like it a lot (Curbed disagrees). This is the very large site just a block north of the gold-domed Williamsburgh Savings Bank building that has been under construction for years — since 2008, to be exact. When we stopped by last summer, the foundation had been poured and they were working on what looked like an elevator shaft. The final build by the Rabsky Group will have 11 stories, 106,000 square feet, and 113 apartments, as The Real Deal reported. There will also be parking, a gym, and a rooftop terrace. ND Architecture LLC are the designers. It’s supposed to be done in October. The rendering shows a Barclays Center meets late Victorian vibe, with rusty Corten steel-clad high bay windows on the roofline that resemble giant cornices looming over what is otherwise a brick building. The bays break up what would otherwise be a giant expanse into row house-size bites. As far as we know, this does not look like any other building going up in Williamsburg. Nice work. Oh — and it will be a rental.
