The brownstone at 105 St. Marks Avenue is the first house in Prospect Heights to crack the $3 million ceiling — the house just closed for $3.1 million. A press release from Ideal Properties describes the space like this: “Beautifully restored, the townhouse preserves authentic period details, including moldings, classic parquet floors, pocket doors, shutters and fireplace mantels.” We listed this property as a House of the Day in 2009, when it was asking $2,500,000 — “a bold move in this market.” It was relisted in 2010 for $2,250,000. It was listed again this February for $2,999,000. This time around, the broker tells us, they received crazy amounts of traffic at the open houses and multiple offers above ask. The home ultimately entered contract one month after it was put on the market. Correction: A brownstone at 166 Prospect Place sold in May for $3,300,000.

  1. I don’t understand what this complaint is really about. The house sold above asking… it can’t be that the buyer just bought it because of the pictures and didn’t actually walk through it right?
