It’s been a long road for the empty lot at 510 Flatbush Avenue (aka 33 Lincoln Road), but it looks like a new building is finally coming soon. First, developers planned a shiny glass tower for the site. The neighbors hated it. Then the lot sold. The new developer planned to build a nine-story, 133-unit affordable rental building. Then there were holdups with funding. Funding must have come through because the Department of Buildings just issued a new building permit for the site. The development consists of two different buildings connected by an enclosed corridor. Building amenities include bike storage, a roof deck, cafe, gym, laundry room, and underground parking. The ground floor will hold retail and community space; the development has frontage on both Flatbush and Lincoln. Twenty percent of the units will be affordable to low-income families and the other 80 percent will be priced about 10 percent below market rate. Has anyone spotted construction action at the site yet?
