A prepared food shop called Peck’s is soft opening at 455A Myrtle Avenue in early September, with an official opening in October. Local resident and store owner Theo Peck is planning a menu of prepared foods such as roasted carrots with salsa verde buttermilk dressing, white beans with chorizo emulsion, and mashed potatoes with chicken fat fried onions. The store will also sell baked goods, coffee, artisanal cheese, growlers of craft beer, charcuterie, sandwiches, salads and more. The owner is the founder of the national tour of amateur food competitions, The Food Experiments. He also opened Lansky Lounge on the Lower East Side.
