Over the weekend, plywood went up in front of the old Associated and neighboring shops on Myrtle Avenue where Silverstone Property Group is planning to put up a seven-story building and an eight-story building in the coming months. (DOB permits for building here and for fence here.) When all’s said and done there will be a total of 240 rentals, 20 percent of which will be affordable of some kind. The new residential building will have retail on the ground floor (the Associated is expected to return) and will be enhanced by a new $6,000,000 streetscape project called Myrtle Plaza that will extend all the way down to Emerson Place.
