Restaurant 1 Knickerbocker to Open in Bushwick This Month

A bar and restaurant named 1 Knickerbocker will open at that address sometime this month in the heart of the Bushwick loft district off Morgan Avenue. Owner Jesse Levitt and manager Aimee Arciuolo of bars Minor Arcana in Prospect Heights and Kings County in Williamsburg plan to restore the interior to its “original decor,” according to a press release.

The spot has been a dance hall, brothel and speakeasy in the past, according to the duo. The venue will serve American food and classic cocktails. The commercial building was an HOTD last year; interior photos of the space when it was used as artist studios can still be seen on the old Corcoran listing. The building sold from one LLC to another in 2012 for $1,625,000, according to PropertyShark.
