Another Notable Bed Stuy Wood Frame House Will Meet the Wrecking Ball

No building on a lot bigger than 20 feet wide seems safe from development these days. The mansard-roofed house at 330 Throop Avenue, built sometime before 1873, which makes it one of the area’s oldest houses, is slated for demolition. Currently a three-family, the building has a FAR of 3, for a total of 11,475 buildable square feet, according to PropertyShark. The lot measures 45 by 85 feet.

A demo permit was issued in April. An application for a new building, which has not yet been approved, calls for a four-story, eight-unit building. There is currently a stop work order on the property. It is not located in any of the proposed Bed Stuy historic districts.
