505 st marks avenue 62014

The first two stories of a planned eight-story rental building are rising slowly at 505 St. Marks Avenue between Franklin and Classon in Crown Heights. Foundation work at the large lot started in April. The 99,821-square-foot development will have 147 apartments, 82 bike storage spots, 74 subterranean parking spaces, a roof deck and recreation rooms, according to the latest new building permits.

Issac and Stern Architects are designing the building, and permits list the developer as Yosi Cohen of Realty Within Reach, who is also behind an affordable housing development nearby at 482 Franklin Avenue in Bed Stuy.

One of our Flickr pool members, Tom Giebel, has been taking great photos of the construction progress and workers. We’ve included some after the jump.

  1. Wouldnt say rising slowly. I feel like these 2 stories appeared suddenly in last 2 weeks. Lots of big new construction in the neighborhood, including the large yet to start on St. Johns. b/w Classon & Franklin.
