Mixed results for our Open House Picks from six months ago. Two sold above ask, one is in contract, and was taken off the market.

While all the picks shared a constant of being 19th-century town homes with modern updates, they fared very differently. The open plan Clinton Hill home with exposed brick galore and a fireplace apparently charmed someone quite deeply, because it garnered $160,000 over ask and closed for $2,150,000.

A well-located Fort Greene home received a whopping $201,000 over ask, sending its already lofty listing price to close at $3,200,000. Its recent renovation did leave it with a subway-tiled kitchen and lovely stone counters.

The second half of our properties didn’t do as well, despite also being in some of Brooklyn’s priciest markets.

The Greenpoint spot has newer updates alongside plenty of original details, including plaster-ornamented bay windows and a spacious parlor. The ask was reduced by $115,000 to $1,885,000 and it is now in contract.

In Gowanus, a rather plain but bargain-priced one-family was taken off the market in September. It had been asking $1,100,000.
