Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights is about to get a little more rock’n’roll. Park Slope resident Andrew Heidel has been prepping a double-wide storefront space at 683 Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights for a new Steampunk-themed live music spot called The Way Station. They’ve had a few private parties in recent weeks while waiting for the full-time liquor license. You can check the place out for yourself at the Chanukah vs Christmas party on December 20 or on New Year’s Eve. Hopefully the joint will be open full-time early next year. Heidel’s been documenting the renovation of the space on his personal blog; there’s also an official blog for the bar. GMAP

and yes there are several actual Steampunk bands.
“Coward of the County” is a can’t-fail karaoke hit! You just require the balls to sing it.
so prospect heights is turning into carroll gardens… seriously, from the pic it looks like this new place will be clover club with live music. which is fine, whatevs. meanwhile some hardware store in CG is doing banging business in edison light bulbs (is that what those clear, loopy filament bulbs are called?).
all of the coheed and cambria albums are one big dorky sci-fi story.
IJ, the above admission can be used in court of law.
“Coward of the County” – country – does not suck
“Bee’s Wing” – folk – does not suck
“I’m the Fuckin’ Murderer” – rap – does not suck
But most of them suck.
Country, folk, and rap songs all have plots.
Hmmm, songs with plots…let me think…Arab Strap? Too heady. Belle and Sebastian? ummm, straining brain to remember.
