New Build at Classon and Fulton

We passed this work-in-progress on Fulton and Classon on our Sunday drive. We believe the address is 530-532 Classon but were unable to find anything on Property Shark or DOB about it. This is the biggest project we're aware of this far east--we'd call it Bed Stuy but no doubt it will be marketed as Clinton Hill. Anyone got the 411?
Comments
Look on DOB under 1079 Fulton st (alternate address) There is a violation for work without a permit issued against "FULTON CLASSON CONDO . 32 COURT STREET , BKLYN , NY 11201"
Soooo, I guess it's going to be condos but these guys can't even get their stuff together to file a permit.

I have NO doubt this will be marketed as Clinton Hill. I've seen things on Bedford recently marketed as Clinton Hill. I thought Classon was the official border of B-S, but maybe I'm wrong?

I heard (from a Corcoran Group agent...) that the "new" eastern border of Clinton Hill is Franklin Avenue-- keeping in line with the zip code borders(i.e., to the east of Franklin it's 11216; to the west it's 11238)
As a side note, I live on Greene between Bedford and Nostrand and I cannot believe people are trying to call it Clinton Hill. It's Bed-Stuy and Proud of It (or Do or Die, depending on who you're talking to).

I have been told by a city council representative that the area all the way to nostrand ave. has been rezoned clinton hill.
In fact, the zip codes for some of the new developments off the bedford-nostrand G stop are 11205.
I still think that any area that is close to bedford ave. should be considered bed-stuy, end of story.

I lived on Lefferts btwn Classon & Franklin. It felt more like Clinton Hill than Bed-Stuy, so I guess the change was in order. If you asked 3 different people on that block where they lived you would get 3 different answers. Some of the really old timers still think of it as Ft Greene because Clinton Hill was just the co-op buildings and Bed-Stuy starts at Bedford Ave.

what the hell are you talking about:
" have been told by a city council representative that the area all the way to nostrand ave. has been rezoned clinton hill."
theres no such thing as rezoned as another neighborhood
re-zoned means change allowable building type/density

I have a view of this from my window and it has been built fairly quickly (seems like less than 3 months) as opposed to the lot a block east that's been digging their foundation for at least a year.
There's a four story building on the corner of Classon and Monroe that's almost finished too.

I don't live to far from this site and was surprised to see it as well. I'm thinking (because of the white doors) it's being built by the same development company that built the condo's on Bedford & Halsey.

If you want to see some large scale new construction in Bed-Stuy, try looking at the following address. This is from the Corcoran Development Division web site.
794-802 Dekalb Avenue Condos bet. Tompkins and Throop 33 duplex lofts
Brand new construction and open loft living! 33 units will be available this spring.
Each of these four story buildings will consist of eight duplexes. These open and spaciously laid out lofts will have their own Mezzanine level sleeping area. 14 ft ceilings and huge windows allow sunlight to penetrate these sprawling units which will range from 742 square feet to 1838 square feet. All units will have outdoor space; either a roof terrace, back yard or balcony

11238 zip code also encompasses parts of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights-- it makes no sense to draw neighborhood borders at zip code borders.

I agree with you about the way you view the issue. I remember, long time ago, Jack London said something like "Everything positive has a negative side; everything negative has a positive side." I also find it interesting to see different points of views and learn useful things in the discussion.
