coneyThor Equities unveiled the latest version of its plan for a newer and glitzier Coney Island at a private meeting last week with the Coney Island Development Corporation. New twists to the development, which would run from West 15th to West 12th Streets, include the addition of luxury residential condos and a tree-lined pedestrian mall for Stillwell Avenue modeled on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. From what the Daly News had to say, it sounds like the retail/public portion of the plan was well received while the 19-story condo tower, which would require rezoning to proceed, didn’t go over as well. We’ll see.
