Paint-Peeling Charm in Windsor Terrace

house house
This house at 1518 10th Avenue in Windsor Terrace is quite a curiosity. According to a neighbor, there's an old man who's been living here for at least twenty years (long enough that there's no turnover history on Property Shark), in which time not a spot of upkeep has been performed on the house. It looks like it has the potential to be a pretty sweet bachelor pad with that ground-level parking space and proximity to the park. We're sure there's more to the old man story if anyone cares to share. GMAP Property Shark

I heard the same old man story - but also was told that it sold in less than a day a few months ago - I did notice someone with a tape measure on the lot a couple of weeks ago??? - We just moved in down the street on 16th between 10th/11th - it has lots of potental and it so close to the park

"It looks like it has the potential to be a pretty sweet bachelor pad with that ground-level parking space and proximity to the park." Eesh...sounds a bit grave-robber-ish to me.

ah, yes... [wringing hands together] ... come, sweet avian flu! So many restoration opportunities await!

Maybe the old man is just there in spirit. Boo!

That place has been tumble down way more than 20 years, and I believe it was sold as a dumpster briefly appeared outside about two months ago. I also live nearby and hope it isn't torn down for a fedders atrocity.

Seeing the kinds of renovations they do in Windsor Terrace, the poster fearful of a "fedders atrocity"is right to be worried. Someone just bought an old frame house down the block from me on Vanderbilt. The front was covered with asbestos shingles. Their solution: slap on that crappy-looking brick that they build Fedders buildings out of. Made me want to cry.

I noticed they're pulling down a nice brick house on McDonald and Terrace I think--I expect a fedders creepture there as well--I suppose the sale of the bus lot doomed the low-rise nature of that block.
