building
Ever try to park on the street on a weekday in Dumbo? Humanly impossible, due in part to the lack of parking spaces and in part to the massive amounts of construction going on. Dumbo has a lot going for it, but we don’t know how people are going to put up with living on a massive work site for the next five years, albeit one with an increasing number of charming amenities. Adding to the chaos is this new building going up on Water between Adams and Washington. Anyone got the 411 on the project? GMAP

  1. funny you guys are all hounding this guy scarano wuth this 12 story building, when there are giant towers going up all around that one… perhaps they are obstructing your vision in seing the light and realizing what is actually going on: this website’s personal vendetta against an architect with no apparent reason! so tired of reading this crap! there is only one brownstone in DUMBO anyway, so stay out.

  2. So DUMBOites…is construction still in progress or has it been stopped like other Scarano designed projects?
    See construction crews lately?

  3. There is a newly (less than 5 years I think) constructed building on the Manhattan side just north of the bridge that has to be less than 10 feet from the bridge. I couldn’t believe when it was going up, but there it is, finished and occupied.

  4. Wired link says 12 stories only. Agreed with 11:41 AM – it is really close to the Manhattan Bridge – and those trains are loud, and frequent.

  5. on Scarano website – he lists project for Water St. and on city DofB site on applications for 133 Water St.
I think it said 20 story residential.
Wonder since is Scarano – has this site come to standstill like many of his other projects?

  6. man, this thread is lame (and I’m a 10-year DUMBO resident with a car)

I have heard from a couple of people that the building in question is not residential, but I can’t verify it.
