buildingForest City Ratner was given a violation yesterday in connection with a Stop Work Order issued on Saturday at 620 and 622 Pacific Street. DOB found several code violations on site–including a defective safety fence–when it visited the site last weekend after calls from disgruntled neighbors at 624 Pacific. The rent controlled tenants at 624, at least one of whom is a member of DDDB, had filed a civil lawsuit last week over alleged improper usage of a backhoe during demolition work. The Atlantic Yards Report wrote yesterday that the residents would be seeking to file a criminal complaint in upcoming days. As for the violation, the maximum penalty is $2,500 which must really be keeping Bruce up night.

  1. I agree. I don’t think this project will ever happen. There are just too many court battles that Ratner faces! No one I know wants this thing!!!

  2. I think people are starting to realize this project won’t happpen. That’s good in their minds because none of them wanted it in the first place.

  3. yeah, you guys are right. the less scrutiny the better.
actually, it would be very good if the Mayor issued blindfold’s to all of us just to ensure that occurs.

you guys still don’t get it. FCR spouts nonsense about protecting the safety of the community. then they tell their contracters that a residential buildingn THEY OWN is vacant while its fully occupied. then the contractors violate their permit, endangering the structure of building with sleeping tenants.

thats acceptable to you? okay then.

  4. Agreed, 1:16. While technically in violation, these acts are being blown up in order to demonize Ratner. I am sure that there will be many more to come, whether or not Ratner is at fault. Just another failed tactic in a losing battle.
