Spike Lee’s wife may have persuaded him to move to the Upper East Side a few years ago, but it’s good to know that the film director most associated with Brooklyn hasn’t completely abondoned the borough. In addition to filming his recent hit “Inside Man” at nearby Steiner Studios, Lee has kept his 40 Acres and a Mule headquarters at 124 Dekalb Avenue at Brooklyn Tech Place. Judging from the graphic emblazoned on the front door of his studios, he’s not planning on going anywhere any time soon.
The exteriors for “Inside Man” was 20 Exchange Place in the financial district.
I would like to know if anyone at the studios can help a person refine a script they are writing?

kb – no it was not. It is a bank downtown (manhattan) a couple blocks south of wall street. I saw them filming it, inside and out.
KB – Are you talking about the interior or exterior of the bank in inside man? I don’t know about the exterior, but the interior of the bank was a set that was built on a soundstage at Steiner Studios.
I got a tour while they were filming and saw it myself.

What about the 40 Acres banner (looks exactly like the one pictured here) hanging off a building just north of Lafayette on the east side of, I think, South Elliott? Is that another office? thanks…
can anyone confirm/deny that he used the current Washington Mutual Bank on Fulton St. (in Fulton Mall) as the setting in the Inside Man movie? it looked MIGHTY familiar!
