If the contractors at 406 15th Street weren’t doing such damage to neighboring buildings (and getting away with it), this would almost be comedic. As it is, it’s at the very least negligent. In this latest four-minute clip, you don’t even have to wait til the end to get the money shot: A massive pipe smashing twice into the neighboring building. What’s DOB doing about this?

  1. When hoisting a pipe that size, one tether at each end is used by ground crew to guide the pipe and keep it from swinging.
No hard hats, and worse; there’s car & foot traffic on the street just a few feet away from these incompetent assholes handling heavy equipment.

It’s a catastrophe waiting to happen.

  2. I counted at least 10 violations and that was with only a cursory look.
And this is only one short clip. You could only imagine what has transpired over the course of the last 3 years through out Brooklyn.
Why do we pay taxes anyway?
And When do we start the class action against the City and DOB?

  3. Of course the “first gasp” my wife had when viewing this is that the pile would float back right across the screen and slam into the worker!

    Lucky for him, I guess.

No hard hats, no harnesses, no correct stacking area (don’t you love the tone the piles make when they hit the wall?) and NO common sense.

And for all this they killed 2 street trees, have dammaged 2 adjacent properies (multiple back yards) to get the friggin’ loading truck on the property. Hardly worth the music video…though, thank you IMBY.

    Disgusted, as par, this week.
