Synagogue Needs Some Skin, Baby!

house
If they were able to build this entire building in two weeks, you'd think the Satmar congregation could get it together to put a real exterior on their 'gogue, wouldn't ya?

Didn't Jews used to care about architecture?

That building has got to be a fire hazard.

The video is scary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOxx7T-yQWs

Where are the exits? What are the occupancy limits?

..And where are all the women

Where is their sense of pride? This is the cheapest, schlockiest looking piece of building this side of feddersville.

There was a very small article about this crap, in the Post (I Believe), about a month ago. They were so proud that they had built this thing in some kind of record time. What they didn't go into to much detail about was the fact that there were numerous violation including - Safety violations, working through stop work order's, working illegally with no permits, working on weekends and late at night.
Typical Brooklyn building practices for these very religious people.

How is it that buildings can get built with so many violations and obvious non-compliant activities?

Given that there are SO MANY examples of this happening, is this a case of us needing a Mr/Ms. Smith goes to NYC/NYS to point this out?

On a cynical note: the pockets have got to be so deep and/or so lined with backroom deals money that I find this all pathetic.

Isn't it amazing what was once built - historic properties or not used to look so "nice". What has happened to good design?

It's like we've devolved.

:(

When one anwers to a Higher authority, the laws of mortal men are insignificant.

Terrorists make the same argument.
