Luxury (Or, More Likely, Not) On Adelphi Fringe
Gotta say we’re a little nervous about what’s going to get built at 120 Adelphi right next to this old woodframe house, despite the fact that nothing has happened since we look at it three months ago. A sign on the plywood fence says “luxury condominiums” but we’ll bet these aren’t exactly Richard Meier units….

A sign on the plywood fence says “luxury condominiums” but we’ll bet these aren’t exactly Richard Meier units. In fact, much of this block between Myrtle and Park appears to be at risk. At least someone is trying to save another old woodframe further down the block (photo on the jump).

I hope these little guys start building before the big guys knock them out of the game. Ratner is going to flood the market if he gets to build. And the 30-story forte can’t be moving many units. Then add the projects off of Flatbush coming up and I think the competition for new product sales will be fierce.
Next to 84 Adelphi there is a new CORCORAN sign for a new development called Verdi, “luxury living on the lush streetscapes of Fort Greene”
The guy is building down the block too.
He is dying of selling it to a developer, however he tries to cash out like it’s prime location in the city.
In addition, his plans are not completed yet and if he’ll wait too ong the area will be downzoned.
There are some lovely old woodframes on that block and some of the other blocks between Park and Myrtle.
