Checking In on Habitat's Halsey Homes

The Habitat for Humanity project on the corner of Halsey and Marcus Garvey wasn't much more than a hole in the ground when we wrote about it last October; now it looks to be within a couple of months of completion. Of particular note is the fact that the nine-family development was built as part of the Habitat's green program; it's one of the first residences in the city to made out of Insulated Concrete Forms which are both more energy efficient and more able to withstand the elements. If you're interested in getting a place here, you must meet these criteria; plus, it helps if you already live in the nabe.
