There hasn’t been a whole lot of progress at 1101 Prospect Avenue aka Prospect Row since we checked in back in April. When we wrote about it then, we expressed a little skepticism given that the architect is Bricolage. However, the developer, Basile Builders Group, is the same bunch that developed The Simone a few blocks away which actually is pretty nice, so maybe there’s hope for this one! That said, the cinderblock construction thus far is a little perplexing. This looks more like a bunch of townhouse entrances than the ground floor of an 18-unit building. Maisonettes maybe?

  1. WT is a great area, but that condo is gonna be dreadful….I love WT, but all these condos going up are gonna make for worse parking and a bunch more of funny looking people walking in the streets…Im moving to Coney Island!

  2. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know much about construction — but walking by this building is really scary. The cinderblocks look kind of uneven and the cement holding them together is all over the place. Has anyone else walked by and been unimpressed with the quality of the construction?

  3. Sad to say this development is getting worse all the time. Crappy little windows, weird semi-detached housing style. This is such a great location, why they couldn’t build a decent 4-5 story luxury condo building is beyond me. Seriously, I’m gutted.

  4. Nowheres-ville? Interesting, given that the New York Times did a pretty good profile on WT just a few weeks ago. They didn’t mention the good schools (PS 154 and Bishop Ford), but it was a good piece overall. I think this site profiled it. Yup, I own in WT and LOVE IT.

  5. I would hardly call Windsor Terrace “nowheres-ville”. What they build it would be an improvement over the auto repair shop that was there before. It can’t be worse than some of the vinyle siding crap down the the street.

  6. Welcome to the new Brooklyn, where nothing’s cheap. This was a garage and auto repair shop for close to 50 years before they sold to developers. Not like anyone had much chance to protect themselves. Sucks, sucks, sucks.
