A mystery firm called the Sun Sun Corp. has snapped up several vacant industrial buildings in Williamsburg and is telegraphing its intentions via the name it’s registered the properties under: Ainslie Tower LLC. Sun Sun has purchased 467 Keap Street and 49-51 Ainslie streets, all of which are within spitting distance of the Lorimer L stop. According to DOB records, an application to build a 10-story residential structure at 467 Keap was made—and rejected—back in June. If the project happens, it’ll rise on the same block as a new condo from TreeTop Development and an in-the-works mixed-use building from the Chetrit Group. Repeated calls to the Chinatown-based Sun Sun have shed little light on the would-be Ainslie Tower, though one person who answered the phone told us they’re building condos and stores and stuff there. Get ready, Williamsburg—more condos and stores and stuff on the way! GMAP P*Shark DOB

  1. I think Sun Sun developed 530 St John’s Place in Brooklyn sold by Corcoran. It looks tasteful on the webite but I have not heard anything about constuction quality. I think this was their first devlopment in New York/ US.

  2. what else has Sun Sun developed? will their luxury tower on ainlsie be required to have 20% of it units available to low income folks, like the ones guing up on the waterfron a few blocks away?

  3. My girlfriend lives around there (and I grew up in Wburg). I count at least six developments within a 3 block radius of this site! Two are being constructed, two seem to be stuck on foundation work, and the rest haven’t broken ground yet. It is soo crazy…
