Some of the Concerned Citizens of Greenwood Heights have set up a photo gallery that will document the razing of 312 23rd Street and the forthcoming construction of condos on the site. They write that they “hope this new development site’s documentation will be a treasure to remember and not an bad-boy to forget. So far so good…”

  1. 1:40pm, thanks for loving my “spectacular” block. Live here and you’d know why. That’s why we’re so upset to see 312 go…and to be living next door to it.

Do take a walk up the block, through the ‘nabe and even in Green-Wood. I think you’ll realize why folks are dying to live on 23rd St, on both sides of the block.

  2. 1:12PM, it’s no where near a “spectacular view of the Con-Ed substation,” being up the street almost a full block (not that new POS on the corner of 23rd and 6th, that’s got a Con-Ed view and a buzz, I’d guess).

More like a “spectacular view of the Green-Wood Cemetery across the street.” Part of the reason perfectly good frames on this cute block are being raised for new condos. Take a stroll or drive by the block one day.

I am always surprised how quiet and peaceful it is. In between the construction, I mean.

This home was in fine shape in the summer of 2007 before going “log cabin” and open to the elements as the gallery shows. Too bad $$ talks loud and the neighbors leave town.
