For a project that’s been in suspended animation for months, the Urban Green Condos at 142 North 6th Street in Williamsburg sure is selling well. According to the Douglas Elliman-helmed website, 28 of the development’s 44 units are already in contract. Meanwhile, Curbed has taken note of some rather un-green happenings on the site, including around-the-clock exhaust fumes and murky waters in the excavation pit. If it ever gets built, this place should be pretty nice. Any contract holders care to share any more details about the hold-up?

  1. I don’t feel comfortable buying a hole in the ground, nice rendering not withstanding. Are these buyers investors or just inexperienced?

  2. where’s a better psf price? i looked for 2 years in gentrified brooklyn, and ended up buying in williamsburg for just under $500 psf. prices are higher now, but considering the benefits of the neighborhood and the proximity to manhattan, still believe williamsburg prime offers the best deals. cobble hill, ps, even fort greene tend to have psf prices.

  3. if it’s as nice as the listings indicate, it’ll sell well. the location is excellent.

prime williamsburg continues to sell out because these condos are offering the best psf in gentrified brookln, and with 1 stop to the city, it’s by far the closest to midtown.
